Frequently asked questions

How much does longarm quilting cost?

Published 2026 price lists cluster around $0.015 to $0.03 per square inch for edge-to-edge (all-over) quilting, often with a minimum charge of around $50. Custom quilting is several times higher. Ask your local longarmer for their rate.

How do I price a handmade quilt?

Start from cost: materials plus your time at a fair hourly rate, plus quilting, overhead (thread, needles, electricity, fees) and a profit margin. Then compare with similar quilts on sale. Underpricing your time is the most common mistake.

What hourly rate should I use?

Many makers start from their local minimum wage and go up with experience and complexity. Track your hours on one project – most people underestimate them.
